Fabric Fannies

 |
Our group was formed in 2005 by Joy Katzko.
As of today we have 6 core members plus two who join us
when they can. In 2006 we finally found a name for
the group that we all liked, Fabric Fannies. The groups
goal is to learn from each other, challenge ourselves beyond
our own expectations and have fun doing it.
In 2006 we undertook our first community project and made
60 placemats which were handed over to the Meals On Wheels
coordinator in December. In addition we were made
aware of a lady living in a trailer who, when the Englishman
River flooded in November, lost almost everything. Three
of the group got together and spent the day cutting, stitching
and pressing and produced a twin size quilt and pillow shams.
The Comfort Quilt Society provided the batting and the backing.
We all enjoy being part of the group, the comradeship we
share and the numerous cups of tea, cookies and muffins
we consume |
