Meetings are generally held the third Monday
of the month with exceptions sometimes occurring
in months with holidays. There is an afternoon
meeting at 1:00 pm and an evening meeting at
7:00 pm. The meetings are held at the Bradley
Centre, 975 Shearme Road, Coombs, BC. Members
are welcome to attend either meeting, or both.
Meetings include
- Information - some are business meetings
- Program - may be a speaker, a presentation,
a workshop or demonstration
- Library - lots of books and magazines
to choose from
- Secret Sister - gift exchange
- Door Prizes - in house
- Show and Tell
- Merchants Table
- Refreshments
- A chance to meet, share ideas and be
inspired by other members
Membership
Membership is $25.00 per year and runs from
June 1 to May 31. The fee for new members joining
after January is $10.00. Your membership may
be paid at the meetings or mailed to the Membership
Chairperson at the Guild address.
Members receive at least five newsletters per
year and a membership list. All members in good
standing as of December 31st 2005 will be able
to enter their quilts into the "Silver Threads"
Show. Our Guild is run by volunteers who give
their time to make our Guild successful. Please
volunteer to help as it is a great way to meet
people.
Program
The Program Committee usually provides demonstrations,
speakers or short classes each month. In October
the "Fun, Food and Friendship" workshop weekend
include a choice of different classes, a dinner
Saturday and a special speaker.
In February our "Cabin Fever" workshop weekend
will provide more opportunities for taking classes.
December and June are generally party times
with finger food and special activities.
Library
Members in good standing have the privilege
of borrowing books and magazines form our extensive
library.
Library Policies

Library items should be returned to
the library as you enter the hall. These
library items need to be processed so
that they will be ready to take out
again before the library opens.

Overdue library items will have the
following fines applied.
- First month overdue - $1.00 per
library item.
- Second and each additional month
overdue - an additional $2.00 per library
item per month.
- Third month - an invoice will be
sent for the value of the books.
- Library privileges will be suspended
immediately if outstanding fines are not
paid when items are returned overdue.
- Any outstanding fines and/or replacement
costs as per invoices sent out will be added
to your membership renewal fee.
- The Library will be open only when directed
by an announcement during a break in activities.
The only members allowed into the library
during the meeting will be executive and
committee members that have a job to perform
during the break when the library is open.
(e.g. program, membership, door raffle people,
etc.)
- Your current membership card must be
shown at the gate to the library before
entry will be allowed. This card must also
be shown at checkout time to take out library
items.
- Only eight to ten guild members will
be allowed into the library at one time.
- Reserved items will only be held for
two months and then put back into circulation.
