The
group began meeting in early 2002 with six core members
which gradually evolved into the current group of 9 regular
members and 2 seasonal members. In November 2003, the group
began discussions which resulted in the name – Monday Social
Club - because meetings were held every second Monday evening.
Last winter the group added one Sunday meeting a month from
10 to 3 p.m. and alternated that with a Monday evening meeting
from January to May.
The group has worked on comfort quilts, given each other
aid and support, and met to enjoy each other’s company.
Since discovering Planet Patchwork’s mystery quilt events
some of the group has met twice for an all day sewing sessions.
At present the group is working on Round Robin quilts. Each
quilt has a different theme and each member adds a block
based on the original member’s theme. The pictures show
our regular members and samples of the latest mystery quilt. |
